FAMACHA Score in Goats
FAMACHA scoring is a great way to check for anemia in your goats most often associated with a sever barberpole infestation. Following are several links explaining why, how to do score, and where to get your own score cards. This is something that is very important to learn while tending your herd and it could very well save your goats life.

To treat anemia in your animal start the following protocol asap.
a. B-Complex injection: 1CC for ever 25lbs. Do this every 12 hours for 5 days then once a day for 9 more days.
b. Red Cell: 6CC for every 100 lb of body weight (do not copper bolus if giving Red Cell) for 5 days then once a week until full improvement
c. Nutridrench: 1 fluid ounce per 100 lb of body weight every 8 hours for 2-3 days. You can also use molasses with goat electrolytes if you do not have nutridrench.
