Finally getting our last doe that is kidding for awhile posted. We have two more in May and possibly 3 more in August. We will be drawing blood later in the month to see if Aug. girls took. Cabochon WM Aquamarine (Mari) 3*M (pending) kid on day 148 with triplets. Mari wasn't progressing so we went in to check. Both Hannah and I were totally at a loss on what was going on when we checked. The vet was called in. Here the reason she wasn't progressing is one of the kids was coming ribs first! No wonder we couldn't tell what was going on! Vet had a hard time getting that first kid out but then everything was smooth sailing. We ended this early season with about 50/50 boys/girls ratio - so much better then last years all boys! Mari is pending her *M that she received as a FF.
Mari was bred to Krebs LG Spearmint . His dam milked 5lbs as a 3F on a one day milk test. The sire's dam is the famous Sugar Moon lines and she has so many awards I cannot name them all here! He is polled, moonspotted, and blue eyed. All three of the kids he threw are polled! One is moonspotted - we don't think the other two are but spots are hard to see on creamy goats sometimes, especially with the white overlay. Only time will tell with what they throw. If you are looking for a doe, Mari will be for sale towards fall if the other 3 does took forOctober delivery. We should know by beginning of July when the pregnancy tests come back.
Thanks to Stone Ridge Acres for the Udder Pictures
